Charleston County School District aims to accelerate student learning with Paper™

Written by Paper | December 20, 2021

Paper proudly welcomes Charleston County School District as a new partner, providing 1,000 students in grades 6-8 access to unlimited, 24/7 academic support.

Charleston County School District is a public school district in Charleston, South Carolina. It has 50,299 students in PK-12, with 56% qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

On Paper, students can access on-demand help via chat within seconds—with no time limit on sessions. Using the Paper Method, tutors guide students to think through problems, helping them become more confident, independent learners. Students can also submit any written work and receive detailed notes on grammar, structure, and content. With tutors serving as an extra set of eyes on every first draft, teachers receive higher quality submissions that cut grading time.

"Charleston County School District is excited to partner with Paper for 24/7 tutoring access in order to better meet the needs of our scholars. This program will allow scholars to receive support during and outside of the typical school day.

We are fortunate to be able to provide this opportunity in some schools as a pilot, to accelerate the learning of scholars after a 'not so typical' two years where Covid has widened the learning and opportunity gaps for many of them."

— Dr. Joseph L. Williams, Associate Superintendent of Secondary Schools
