I’m thrilled to welcome Martina Tam as Paper’s new CEO. After an extensive search for a leader whose vision aligns with our mission, we found Martina to be a dynamic leader with an exceptional track record of driving growth and innovation at Brightwheel, MasterClass, Eventbrite, and beyond. Martina has scaled businesses, launched impactful solutions for customers, and delivered outstanding results—all driven by her deep commitment to making a meaningful impact.
What makes Martina truly unique is her ability to pair a clear, strategic vision with the strong, detailed execution needed to bring that vision to life. Martina embodies this rare combination, making her the ideal leader to guide Paper through its next chapter. We are excited about the profound impact her leadership will have on the company, our team, and the students and educators we serve.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have led the resilient team at Paper as Interim CEO during this challenging time. We’ve made tremendous progress: we stabilized the company, built the foundation for future growth, and successfully launched GROW, our high-impact tutoring program. We have much to be excited about, as early results for GROW demonstrate promising impact. With clear evidence of improved learning outcomes, and given the learning loss, teacher shortages and burnout that continue to significantly challenge our schools, districts and communities, the need for GROW has never been greater. And we are just beginning to realize its potential to help millions of students.
As I transition to Executive Chairman of the Board, I want to thank every member of our team for your commitment to Paper and dedication to our mission. Beginning on my first day, I’ve repeatedly shared that post-COVID, the market has changed, and so must Paper. I have witnessed first-hand the grit of this team despite how difficult the transformation has been, and I am deeply grateful for your commitment to the educators, administrators, tutors, and, most importantly, the students we serve every day. Under Martina’s leadership, I’m confident we will continue to have an even greater impact in helping improve student outcomes.
As we shared in today’s All Hands, we are excited and energized for 2025 and beyond. With Martina at the helm and our team's continued, unwavering commitment, my conviction that Paper’s best days are ahead has never been stronger.
