Paper's AI High Impact Tutoring:

  • Happens live, via 1:1 voice and chat instruction;
  • delivered 3x per week, 90 minutes per week,
    in 8–12 week cycles;
  • using curated content aligned to district pacing;
  • measured by benchmark data and granular progress monitoring;
  • monitored by humans in real-time for safety and alignment safeguards;
  • usually happening in class during the school day, but can run after school or intersession.
Sprout is built to run 1:1, so every student in a classroom or intervention block can get individual, simultaneous support rather than waiting a turn. That's the core capability: intervention-level attention at a reach that wasn't affordable or possible before.
 
Students are prompted to talk through their thinking out loud rather than clicking through exercises. The tutor (Sprout) listens, asks the next question, and guides the student toward the answer instead of supplying it, the same Socratic and Gradual Release methods used in Paper's human tutoring.
 
It's a two-way conversation, not a script the student responds to. 
 
Chat is made available for preference and need, but verbal exchange is recommended by Paper. 
 
Before launch, Paper receives your scope, sequence, and pacing guides and builds instruction from them, the same process used for GROW's human-delivery high impact tutoring. Students practice the skills and standards they're currently learning in class. You review the plan before students see it.

Every session runs with active human oversight in the background. Sessions are monitored for safety and academic engagement, with real-time escalation triggered when a student needs support. A team of Paper employees reviews situations based on escalation type and, if warranted, responds in real time.
