In Spring 2025, Bremen Community High School District partnered with Paper to implement GROW High-Impact Tutoring in 9th and 10th-grade math across three high schools.
The program focused on small-group instruction, consistent tutors, live video sessions, and alignment to district pacing guides and priority standards, leading to measurable academic success.
Academic Growth Across All Schools
Average scores on standards-aligned assessments increased from 44% to 66%, a 50% relative improvement in student mastery.
Students made gains in all seven tutored standards, with the highest growth in:
▪ Recognizing congruent figures through transformations (+38.4%, G.CO.A.5)
▪ Interpreting data distributions (+37.2%, S.ID.B.5)
▪ Analyzing scatter plots and associations (+32.7%, S.ID.B.6.a)
Shifts in Proficiency
At one campus, the number of students scoring 70%+ more than quadrupled, rising from just 9% of
students on the pre-assessment to 52% on the final, highlighting the impact of targeted tutoring.
What Educators are Saying
“One of my teachers who wasn’t bought in at first is now fully invested—after seeing students’ confidence and engagement grow.”
“Even the students who initially resisted the program said they’d recommend it to a friend.”
“Students are seeing gains beyond math—five went from failing to passing, and one student keeps
bragging about their improved grades.”
